Your professor may ask you to use scholarly journals --also referred to as "peer-reviewed" or even just "academic"--to research a topic. Fortunately, the FIT library has many databases that have these kinds of articles (for all subjects, not just fashion) and we've even made a chart explaining what they are and how they differ from other kind of magazines. The FIT library (and other college and university libraries today) has almost all of its scholarly journals online only (not in print); the good news is that we can then provide access to hundreds or even thousands of titles!

Google Scholar is another good resource though not everything there would qualify as truly scholarly and you may also not be able to get the full text of the article.
