Q. I am trying to research different types of tissues (esp. Scottie's facial tissues) and I need a database that I can find a lot of information on. Can you help.
Try these databases for various kinds of information you might want (all reachable via the FIT Library database pages: A-Z list, for example
Mintel, for market research about a whole industry or category. You can search by brand name(s) and/or category, For example, If you just type "tissues" you will get listing of several reports, including one called "Household Paper Products" from Feb 2015. Note that they show several section such as "facial tissues" so that phrase (as you've used yourself): might work best .
Search GFK MRI's University Reporter--specifically the "Mediamark Reporter" section--for detailed charts on who purchases a specific brand name product, competitors, and the whole category, Info can be downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet and would include age ranges income levels, gender, etc about the consumers. Follow instructions (shown when clicking on the + sign after the name GFK MRI's University Reporter ) on how to register or re-register each semester for access)
Kantar Media AdSpender shows how much brands and companies spend on advertising and in which media (tv, magazines etc)
See our Research Guides for more tips on using these and other databases. Try:
